The 3rd annual Philumbus 500
This initiative all started with a simple idea and a complicated issue.
“Let’s talk about and crush the stigma around mental health and addiction.”
And although the story of SeaqHelp was founded around one person, it has always been about reaching as many people as possible.
That’s why one day in 2020 a guy from Columbus texted his friend living in Philadelphia with what was proposed as a “potentially crazy idea.” We were to ride from Columbus to Philadelphia - roughly 500 miles in order to raise money for mental health and addiction services.
Spoiler alert - we did that shit, big time. And then again the following year.
This accidental initiative was created by moderately athletic almost 30 year olds with no training, yet raised over $5,500 during the height of a global pandemic. The second year we added even more riders and raised another $5,000.
With love in our hearts and shin splints in our legs, we’re at it again! Let’s roll!
Love,
SeaqHelp
